How to Be Saved
Three Steps to Salvation
**1. Acknowledge that you are a sinner**
The Bible teaches that every person has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard:
“There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10) and “all have sinned” (Romans 3:23).
**2. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you**
God loves you and made a way for you to be forgiven through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross for your sins and rose again so that you could have new life.
“If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved” (Romans 10:9).
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
**3. Turn away from your sinful way of life and follow Jesus**
To repent means to change direction—turning away from a life of sin and turning toward God.
“God… now commands all people everywhere to repent… because He has fixed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness” (Acts 17:30–31).
You can begin a personal relationship with God today by praying sincerely from your heart. You may pray something like this:
*“Lord, I know that I am a sinner and that I need Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. I invite You into my life. Forgive me, cleanse me, and be my Lord and my God. I turn away from my sins and choose to follow You. Change me and fill me with Your Holy Spirit so I may live for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”*
If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart, you have begun a new relationship with Jesus Christ, and God has forgiven your sins.
**Next Steps**
