Here are the key characteristics for volunteers in Media & Publicity Roles, specifically for Web Design, Social Media Content, Communication, Graphics, and Photography:

1. Web Design

Role Purpose: Design, maintain, and update the church’s website to provide an engaging and user-friendly online presence.

Key Characteristics:

  • Creative and Visionary: Able to design visually appealing and intuitive websites that reflect the church’s mission and culture.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in web design tools (e.g., WordPress, HTML, CSS) and able to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ensures the website is accurate, up-to-date, and free of errors, providing seamless navigation for visitors.
  • User-Focused: Designs with the user experience in mind, ensuring the website is easy to navigate and accessible on various devices.
  • Collaborative: Works well with other media team members to ensure the web design aligns with the church’s broader media strategy.

2. Social Media Content

Role Purpose: Create and manage engaging content for the church’s social media platforms to grow its online presence and reach the congregation and community.

Key Characteristics:

  • Creative Storyteller: Able to craft compelling and engaging posts that connect with the audience and communicate the church’s mission.
  • Social Media Savvy: Knowledgeable about various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and best practices for engagement.
  • Timely: Can keep up with posting schedules and respond to social media interactions quickly.
  • Engaging: Understands how to create content that encourages interaction, such as likes, shares, and comments.
  • Adaptable: Able to adjust content style and tone depending on the platform and target audience.

3. Communication

Role Purpose: Ensure clear and consistent communication across all church platforms (bulletins, newsletters, announcements, etc.) to keep the congregation informed.

Key Characteristics:

  • Clear and Concise Communicator: Able to deliver messages in a way that is easy to understand and informative.
  • Organized: Ensures all information is accurate, timely, and aligned with the church’s events and initiatives.
  • Versatile Writer: Can adapt the communication style to suit different channels (e.g., email newsletters, website updates, printed bulletins).
  • Collaborative: Works well with different departments and teams to gather the necessary information for announcements and updates.

4. Graphics

Role Purpose: Design visuals (e.g., flyers, banners, social media graphics) that visually communicate the church’s message and upcoming events.

  • Storyteller: Able to capture moments that tell the story of the church’s events, mission, and community engagement.

  • Adaptable: Comfortable working in various settings (indoor services, outdoor events, etc.), adjusting techniques as needed.
